I've been taking some time to start detaching myself from technology over the weekend, as I spend too much time during the week attached to my shiny new phone or the computer or just something that really takes you away from being connected to people. This weekend consisted of six hours on Saturday were the only technology i had was my watch, swam sailed hiked and biked for close to six hours. Today, my phone died, so the 2 hour bus ride home, i met some nice people.
I recommend trying it, because I'm starting to notice this more and more when I go out, everyone is glued to their Ipod or laptops. Why not just meet up, or even phone? Texting is actually stealing my life. Texting wasn't even a word, now things like Photoshopped and technology butler n. a hotel employee who troubleshoots Internet access, computers, and other electronic equipment for guests. , get thrown into conversations on a semi regular basis. Mrgh.
/end rant
I love technology, don't get me wrong, but when you can stop using it for a day or two and not panic, it's very refreshing.
